One of our regular forays into Anna Jones’ A Modern Way to Eat.
This dhal is creamy and amazing thanks to all the coconut milk in the recipe. The sweet potato is delicious and makes a lovely contrast with the dhal both visually and on the palate. The coconut chutney is super quick to make although I did have to do some switching around of ingredients to accommodate my store cupboard omissions.
The other omission from the whole recipe was chilli. I’m outnumbered on this at home, so left it out today…
Little L’s verdict: an empty bowl with seconds of dhal and potato, although she wasn’t quite so keen on the coconut chutney.
